Tuesday Talk: My Gallery Wall

Welcome to Tuesday Talk!
So glad you're joining us for another week.

This week I want to talk about something that I have been working on for a while, a long while.
If I had to put a number on it I would say somewhere in the neighborhood of about 2 years.

My Living Room Gallery Wall

I know, I know 2 years is a long time to have a project in limbo. But it is a gallery wall! Until the wall is completely filled is it ever really finished?! I say that it is not.

I guess that would technically mean mine isn't done, but it is close enough to share. I am so happy with things just the way they are right now. I don't see myself browsing the aisles of Hobby Lobby or searching Pinterest for ideas for a while.

It started out by adding shelves to an empty wall. We chose to make Ana Whites Gallery shelves and revised the plans a bit to make them our own.

(Please pardon my horribly lit cell phone picture)

This was one of the first projects we worked on when we finally started doing a bit of decorating. The hubby was happy and thought the wall was done.... I had other plans in mind. I mean a wall that big just needed more, right?

Slowly over time It transformed to this.

Much better, right?

Let's take a look at a few of the things we have hanging on the wall.

Antique letter N. You can't find them like this at Hobby Lobby folks. It does a have a bit of damage but we don't mind one bit. I often wonder what sign this was once hanging on.

This was a rainy afternoon art project with a couple sheets of scrapbook paper.

Don't say you haven't been warned.

This sign rotates seasonally. So far I have made one for fall and one for Christmas. I am currently wanting to do something that works for in between the seasons. Something I could leave up all year round if I wanted. I am just not feeling very creative. But I know something will come to me soon and when it does, I am ready!

This was the last piece I added to the wall, I saw it at Hobby Lobby and knew it was perfect.

Okay I know some girls are saying, "WHAT?" followed by "Why?" The truth of the matter is it just works for us. I love cars, he loves cars, why not?!

I adore this picture of Russ' grandmother. Apparently she didn't mind cars either.

P.S. see those dimples..... Marissa definitely picked up that gene.

Family photos that I can easily rotate

It may have taken me about 2 years to get it to this point but I couldn't be happier with the choices we made.

I think a gallery wall is about more than just hanging things on the wall to fill up space. It is finding things that you love, that represent your family and then blending them together to make something beautiful.

Now it's your turn to grab the button and link up!

Do you have a gallery wall in your home?
Is it a work in progress or how long did it take you to complete?
