The Guy Behind The Blog {August 2015}

A couple months ago I some how miraculously convinced the husband to let me do a little interview for the blog. The Mr. isn't a man of many words and has never been one to draw much attention to himself. However he can be quite comical and witty if the mood strikes him You just never know which Russ you are going to get.

He also claims to hate doing these posts but for the third month in a row he humored me. That leads me to the following conclusions.

1) He secretly likes the interviews and just doesn't want to admit it.
2) He really loves me and does it too make me happy or
3) Both 1 & 2 are true.

Whatever it is I love it and I am so glad we get to do these posts together. The interviews are always good for a laugh and I love sharing a glimpse of our relationship with you.

Here we go...

1// What is your all time favorite food?

*Sigh, followed by a long period of silence.*
"I'd have to say a blackened tuna steak. But if I can't have that I guess lasagna since you don't eat fish."

2// Who is the cook between you and your significant other?

*I couldn't help but start laughing hysterically after asking this question, Mr. DOES NOT cook.*
"Well if your around I guess it would have to be you."

Well played Russ, well played.

3// What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

"Hmmm, hmmm?"
*Big sigh.*
"Man that's a toughie."
Me: Have you ate a lot of weird things?

"NO! Not weird to me."
"I don't know, elk chili? That's kind of weird. It's not something people eat everyday."

4// Are there any foods that you absolutely detest?

"Taco Bell, is that even a food?
Me: *laughing* You detest Taco Bell more than you do Mc Donalds?
"It's pretty equal, you don't know what the heck your eating."

5// What is your favorite local, little-known, or hole in the wall place to eat?

"Well since we never go out, hmmm?"
Me: We go out sometimes.
"Hackett Hot Wings. They have the best wings anywhere"
Me: Mmmmm! Yes they do.

Now it is your turn to answer the question that caused the most laughs for us.
Who is the cook at your house?

The Man Behind The Blog {June}

Hello Monday!

Last month was my first ever man behind the blog post. Russ was less than thrilled or comfortable about the interview but he stretched out of his comfort zone and went for it. Boy oh boy am I so glad that he did! I received such so much great feed back from that post that he found it impossible to deny my request to participate in this great link up again.

*Side not before we even started he asked how many questions there were. When I told him 5 he replied "FIVE? That's like five to many." Oh my.

1 // What’s the best vacation you’ve ever been on?

Hmmm? (Silence)
It would probably be a toss up between Hawaii and London because they were culturally different.
I mean that time I went to space....
I mean everyone that I've been on with you.

Me: (Nice try Mr.)

2 // If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?

(Scratching beard)
I don't like riding in planes... so it depends on if I have to sit in a plane.

Me: "That kind of just depends on where you go. You could go by boat."

What's the question? Are you going? What about the kids?

Me: "Let's just assume it's a family vacation."

Ummm.... I could drive to Alaska.
I would like to take you outside of the country but not the kids because they wouldn't appreciate it.

3 // Are there any summer traditions that you have or would like to start? (think things like big picnics, summer activities, bonfires, or day trips!)

Summer traditions?!
(Long pause for thinking with lots of big sighs)
I'm not like a tradition kind of person, but it would be nice to go somewhere different every summer. Fireworks are fun or trying to go to a baseball game with the girls.

4 // The 4th of July is coming up…what’s a must-have picnic or BBQ food for you?

Picnic 4th of July food?
I don't care what kind of meat as long as there is Famous Daves BBQ sauce to put on it. Baked beans are pretty American, maybe some baked beans.

5 // Think about your ideal vacation…are you in a cozy cabin, camping in a tent, or hanging in a hotel?

Not a tent. That's a lot of work.
Uh..... Cabin on the beach? Or a hotel, a clean one.

He's awkward, he's a handful and he's mine.
So thankful for my guy.

Tuesday Talk: The Man Behind The Blog {June 2015}

Welcome to Tuesday Talk!

We would love to have you link up with us this week.

Becky from BYBMG, Beth from Our Pretty Little Girls, Whitney from Polka-Dotty Place, Elizabeth from All Kinds of Things, Tara from Mrs.Coach Sims, Keri from Living In This Season, Sarah from Abiding In Grace, Lauren from Simply Free , Emily from Morning Motivated Mom, Jessica & Katie from Sweet Little Ones, Mandy from Almond Place, Teressa from Teressa Jane

Boy do I have a treat for you today.

My somewhat shy, man of few words has ever so graciously agreed to do a little interview.

It all started last week when Elizabeth from Chasin' Mason did a link up Q&A about "The Man Behind The Blog" It was the first time I had heard of this link-up. I instantly loved the idea and wanted to join in the fun.

There was just one problem...

Russ isn't exactly a talker. He is definitely a man of few words unless he knows you well, your an easy target, or you catch him on an off day. When I first met the guy I thought he was stuck up. I guess it turns out that shy can be confused for stuck up sometimes. Sorry babe.

He reluctantly agreed to do an interview for this post and I hope you enjoy it because it may never happen again.

1// What is your favorite family tradition?

Russ: "We don't have any."
Me: "Yes we do."
*We then proceed to argue about what can be classified as a family tradition before finally realizing a favorite for both of us*
Russ: "Christmas Eve Service with you and the girls."

2// Who is your male celebrity crush?

Russ: "This is such a dumb question."
Me: "I think I know who it is."
Russ: "Who?"
Me: "Indiana Jones"
Russ: "Dang it! I was thinking Harrison Ford."

3// What song best sums you up?

Russ: "I don't know."
 *A minute passes.*
Russ:"Oh wait, I do know. 'Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd'. It just makes sense."
Russ: "Or wait how about 'It's All About The Benjamins by Puff Daddy' or.... or ummm 'In The Garage by Weezer.'"
*Followed by him laughing*

4// What three things do you think of the most each day?

*Sigh*
Russ: "In no particular order. You three, the car I'm trying to build & remembering that I am a Christian and my relationship with Jesus is more important than the daily grind."

5// What is your most embarrassing memory?

Russ: "I don't know."
Me: "Dig deep."
Russ: "I fell down the hill one time when I was trying to mow it."
Me *hysterical laughter* "Man, I'm sorry I missed that one."
Russ: "I'm sure there are more things like that, but I don't know."

Thank you Russell for letting me interrogate you with these awkward questions all for the sake of a blog post.

You're the best.

Now it's your turn to link up!
