"I Choose You Today" {Book Review}

About The Book

How would your marriage change if you and your husband made the spoken declaration

"I choose you" every day?

 Even when "for better or worse" is disappointing, we need to remind ourselves that love is a choice. And it's God's grace that makes that choice possible.

I Choose You Today offers 31 practical ways you can make love last, by choosing to:
*Pursue your spouse
*Challenge one another
*Listen mindfully
*Love fiercely
*And twenty-seven other opportunities to choose wisely.

Deb DeArmond offers inspirational stories, conventional wisdom, and thought-provoking questions to help you explore your choices and commitments to each other . . . every day of your marriage

My Thoughts

I must admit when I found myself crying over the Introduction I was a bit worried how many boxes of tissues I would need while reading this book. "I Choose You Today" was a great read. It is applicable to the unmarried, engaged and those who have been married for several year.

I love how the book was broken into small sections. I know that at times I can struggle to read a book with large chapters but committing to read just a few pages a day felt very easy. It was also nice that the book doesn't need to be read from start to finish. You can easily pick and choose which sections to read. I found the questions and prayers at the end of the chapter to be very helpful. They gave me something to think about through the day and guided my prayer time. The format of this book is perfect for reading alone, as a couple, small groups and bible studies.

My favorite part of the book was the emphasis on the fact that every day we make a choice. Looking at love as so much more than something we feel.

Feelings are not the foundation for truth; feelings are subject to change.
Gods's Word is the foundation of truth.
~Deb Dearmond

The book did a great job at relating applying the Gospel to your marriage, keeping Christ at the center. I definitely see myself turning back to it time and time again in the future.
