Monthly Goals {June 2015}
May is over friends.
I can hardly believe it.
I thought the saying was April showers brink May flowers... apparently that is not true this year. It has rained and rained and rained making this the wettest spring ever. I am praying that June brings abundant sunshine and praying for those who have been affected by flooding.
Let's take a look at my May goals to see how I did.
Blog-
*Continue blogging 4-5 days a week.
*Grow my Instagram account to at least 650 followers.
* Support Keri from Living In This Season during her E-book launch. So excited for her.
Done! I barely managed to reach my Instagram goal, but I did it. I had a lot of fall off after the loop giveaway was over. Not sure If I would do another one of those or not.
Keri's book was successfully launched. Make sure you check out this post including a summer activity blog hop to get more details.
Family-
*Finish our spring bucket list.
*Get a pool pass, go swimming!!!
*Milk shake date as a family at least once.
Unfortunately the spring showers washed our spring bucket list down the drain. There were so many activities we just weren't able to do. This is our first incomplete bucket list ever #sadface. Maybe we'll have better luck when we make our new summer one.
Pool passes are in hand and the milk shake date was a huge success. We also took a few bike rides and had a family movie night.
Fitness-
*Exercise at least 5 days a week including my 3 runs.
*Finish my last half marathon for this year on May 16th.
*Do another one mile fun run with Marissa and Emily.
*Start "The New Rules" weight program later this month.
*Buckle down on my diet when I start my new exercise program.
I guess I can call this one a win. I missed a run or two but only from SORE muscles after my new lifting routine. Doing dead lifts and squats with a barbell are serious business.
My last half marathon for the year was ran.
The girls did another fun run.
And my new diet/ training program is in full swing!
Spiritual- Same as last month
*Pray more. For my girls, my husband and that God would help us to find a new church home.
*Start reading again, again. Praying I would hunger for words of truth.
*Listen to more worship music. Find some "kids" worship music for the girls.
This is the first month I feel like I can say like I made some improvements. I spent some time reading through some of Psalms this month. It is nice to have a little escape in the middle of the day and refocus a bit.
We are finally starting to get settled into a church. Where we are no where near becoming members we have stopped looking around and started regularly attending a church to see if it is a good fit for us. My prayer is that we would continue to build relationships there and that God would give us confirmation in our hearts if this is where He wants us to be.
Worship music has been less frequent this month, but we have also been on the go/outside a lot.
Home School-
*Enjoy our very deserved summer break.
*Start lesson planning for the 2015/2016 school year.
We are LOVING summer, duh. What isn't to love?! Our Library time has been abundant and the park time has been fun. If only we could just get some sunshine so we can head to the pool.
(This photo has nothing to do with this post... but I love this rainbow we saw the other day and had to sneak it in somewhere)
I started lesson planning the last few days of the month. I am a little over halfway done and hoping to finish this up next month.
Random-
*Try and plan a mini vacation.
*Make Finish a new pallet sign.
*Work on mini home make-over stuff.
*Have friends over to grill out.
Mini vacation is planned, WAHOO!!!
Dining room is complete! I really need to take pictures and share the results with you.
Grill day was a HUGE success. We had around 20 friends over and the party lasted from 12:30-7:00 or so. It was so good to have a house full of friends.
Blog-
*Continue blogging 4-5 days a week.
*Try out a new link up or two.
*Write more posts on the weekends, when I can, freeing up my week days.
Family-
*Create and share a Summer Bucket List.
*Go swimming.
*Family trip to the Frisco trails.
*Celebrate Marissa's 7th birthday.
Fitness-
*Exercise at least 5 days a week.
*Complete or almost complete stage one of the "New Rules" program.
*Keep my nutrition plan on track.
*Run a 5K with Russ.... again.
Spiritual-
*Help at VBS while the girls attend.
*Read more this month than I did last month.

June is going to be another busy month. Summer will officially start, a certain little girl will turn 7 and we have our mini vacation coming up soon!!!
It promises to be an exciting month and I can't wait to share all about it!
Do you have any goals for June or summer?
I love monthly goal posts like these and plan to use them for my 2016 goals, instead of what I have now. When you find worship music for the kids, let me know because I would love to have some for Connor, too. He listens to KLOVE with me but I would love to get a hold of some music that he would be able to sing along with like he does his childrens CD.
ReplyDeleteI think I said this last month too but I love that you do monthly (and attainable!) goals. You did so great in May! Can't wait to see how you do in June. Though I have no doubt you will do great :)
ReplyDeleteWow you have a lot on your list friend. Can't wait to see the pallet sign. So what's the new diet? Interested in hear more about that. My dream is to be able to work out 4-5 times a week, ideal it would be more like 5-6 times a week. But time just doesn't allow for that. I would never see my kids after work if I did...
ReplyDeleteWay to go on your goals! I try and set weekly goals (in my planner), it is funny how the end of the week comes and you are still 4 miles out from your running goal and tread out to finish up those last few miles, lol. I am curious about your new diet???
ReplyDeleteThese posts have been fun. I originally kind of felt like they were more for me than anything but it has been encouraging to get so much great feed back from them.
ReplyDeleteI will keep you posted.
Ahhh thanks friend! I can't believe it's June!!!!
ReplyDeleteHehe. Oh goodness IG is such a bear. Usually the best way I have found to increase followers is through hashtag craziness and IG follow feeds through blogging groups on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI do don't I :/. Most of it is stuff that I plan to do already I just like to see it all wrote out. But on the other hand seeing it all wrote out can be a bit eeekkk!!! lol.
ReplyDelete5 times a week is usually wear I end up. 6 times if I am half training. It's exhausting waking up SO early to do it though and I totally get the kid thing. That is why I go crazy early before the husband has to be at work. It is so hard to balance everything isn't it :(.
The new diet is mostly just keeping my macros balanced at 30%protein 30%fat & 30%carbs. I eat about 1973 calories a day and add in a protein shake on the days that I lift. Eating that much protein and that few carbs has proven to be a HUGE challenge for this girl.
I have yet to ever set a mileage goal. Just a goal for runs. Right now I am lucky to get in 6 miles a week which feels crazy low just coming off half season but my priorities have shifted a bit for a while in the gym.

Too bad about the raining washing away your spring bucket list. Good thing summer is right around the corner! I'm always impressed with all you get done on your goals. Good luck with the next batch.
ReplyDeleteIs there an online calculator you use?
ReplyDeleteI use My Fitness Pal 😊.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I hated using the rain as an excuse… but seriously. It has been INSANE.
ReplyDeleteThanks friend. I think the next batch should all be pretty easy…. I think.
Look at you go! What a great way to keep you accountable and roaring on your goals. I should really do that, it would make me want to cross them off like you did :) I know the rain drowned out some of your plans, but here in the desert we are praying for it to come and drown out some of our plans and cool things down! Yay for summer!
ReplyDeleteYou did great with your goals!!! I love all of the pictures! Can't wait to follow along in your June goals.
ReplyDeleteGirl, you crushed your goals! Too bad the rain made the bucket list a challenge to complete, but hopefully your summer list will be totally checked off.
ReplyDeleteNow, can you come make a summer goasl list for me? :)
Thanks friend. I honestly forgot about most of the, ACK! Well, except the dumb bucket list stuff. GGgggrrr!!!
ReplyDeleteYour list would look like this.
Disney, beach, finish the nursery and have the most beautiful baby girl ever. Think you can handle that :)?!
Thank you. They really keep me motivated... something has too :D!
ReplyDeleteExactly. That is exactly why I put them on here. It is mostly for me but making my goals public knowledge really helps me to stay on track.
ReplyDeleteI know, I just wish the rain could be distributed more fairly, lol. I feel bad hogging so much of it... so much to the point it started getting out of control. Things seem to be slowing down though so that is good news for us. I hope you get some soon.
Grill day sounds amazing and that rainbow picture is so pretty!! I like that you've broken your goals down into categories. I'm gathering things for a yard sale right now. I'm hoping to clean out anything and everything I can so I have less to pack when it comes time to move. The extra cash will also be nice :) I'm also hoping that I'll read more in June than I did in May.
ReplyDeleteHa!! I think I can manage. :)
