Free To Be Little, all free clear

This is the story of a little girl who wanted to play, a worried mom who cringed a bit and all free clear saving the day and showing that mom that she had nothing to worry about.

There is a perfect circle in our yard where grass refuses to grow, the "fire pit spot". I guess we've had so many fires there that we come completely killed off the possibility of anything ever wanting to grow there, or so I thought.

A certain 6 year old little girl had different plans for that spot. Her tender heart was sad that nothing wanted to grow there. She wanted needed to fix that. "That is going to be my garden mommy" At first I cringed. All I could see was dirt flung everywhere, dirty fingernails and mud all over her clothes. I convinced myself that I didn't have time for this.

Then I was reminded of a quote I have seen time and time again.

Let Them Be Little.

That round patch of dirt in our yard quickly became her spot. A spot of her very own where she was free to be little. She was free to dig and plant and care for her garden. She successfully pulled up weeds from one side of the garden and replanted them in her special spot. I do believe I have a future gardener on my hands.

She is doing it all on her own and she is so proud of her hard work. It brings her so much joy.

Which brings me joy too.

And when things get messy and dirty I don't have to worry anymore thanks to all free clear.

  4. So you don't use that spot for fires any longer? So cute that she wanted to make her own little garden. You definitely have a budding gardener on your hands. We always use all free and clear, good stuff good stuff. I think the dirty nails make me cringe more than dirty clothing though. Ugh dirty nails.

How sweet that Marissa wanted to make that spot all her own. And kudos to you for giving her free reign to do so!
Totally going to try All. We have a black top alley that is played on every night, and it inevitably leaves dark stains on any piece of light colored clothes.
