Currently {July 2015}

Making //  I haven't been crafty lately but I have been busy getting some projects ready for the school room. I even painted the room over the past weekend. Once again I am totally amazed at how much change a coat of paint can bring. I can't wait to reveal the room to you within the next month!

Reading//  I haven't been doing much reading lately. If I am being honest I am struggling to stay caught up with the blogs I love to read let alone pick up a book. In an effort to change I have been trying to read a devotional every day.

Wishing //  I'm still wishing that summer could last forever.

Listening to//  This Is Living by Hill song Young & Free. As I said in my Friday post my girls simply can not get enough of this song.

Learning //  So many little and big things. Here is a condensed list: I am stronger than I thought I was, Marissa is a better swimmer than I give her credit for, gardening is an amazing way to witness Gods handy work, things don't always work out the way we thought they would. I've learned that last one at least 100 times before and have no doubt I will learn it 100 times again.

Wearing //  Shorts and tank tops. Mostly Old Navy $2 tanks.... man I love those sales. Tank tops are a staple in my wardrobe.

Enjoying //  Summer with my girls. This summer has been even better than the last. I am absolutely loving all of our time together at the pool with friends. It has been so, so good. I never loved summer like this until I became a teacher. I feel like a little kid on summer break all over again.

Looking Forward To //  Watching the girls progress their new found "mermaid skills" over the next couple weeks at swim lessons. In just about a month Marissa has gone from a kid who wouldn't put her face in the water to swimming underwater in the deep end. This proves 2 things. Kids can learn FAST and I have one very determined little girl. It has been so fun to watch.

Eating //  I may be the last person on the face of the earth to hop on board the quinoa train, but I am finally there. So far I made curried quinoa and quinoa enchilada casserole. Both were great and will be made again.

I am also finally eating produce from the garden. Just the other day I picked my first ripe tomato! It may have been little but it was so good.

Planning //  I am finishing up school plans for the 2015/2016 school year. Can you believe the first day of school is just over a month away?!

Praying //  My prayer has and continues to be that God will put us where He wants us and lead us to a new church home.

Missing //  Summer has brought a much busier life for a family who is used to spending hours at home every day. We are now gone just as much if not more than we are home. The only area this is really affecting is my baking and I kind of miss it. I look forward to a full day at home soon where I can play catch up and bake my heart out.

What have you been up to currently?

Summer is just the best. It seems to provide all sorts of fun opportunities that the rest of the year just can't (swimming, trips, whatnot). But, like you, I'm struggling to find time to read, comment, and reply to blogs. There just aren't enough hours in a day to have all that fun and keep up, too.
I LOVE that Marissa has made such awesome progress in her swim lessons. What a little fish. :)

  3. I always love these posts! I'm trying to read a devotional every day, too. The She Reads Truth App on my phone helps that.

  4. I found this quinoa fried rice recipe on Pinterest (I think from Gimme Some Oven) that I LOVE. We made it once last week and are having it again tonight! It's sooooo good and tastes just like fried rice! (if you like fried rice that is lol)

  5. I just love those photos of your girls in their red, white and blue! Sounds like everyone is enjoying summer and being out and about in the water. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to swim and really enjoy the pool.

  7. I for some reason actually get them directly to my main email address so I sadly don’t miss any on them. It would be better for me if they went to my spam 😊.
    Summer is fantastic!

  8. Thank you so much! We are loving our summer. Hang in there mama. It took me several years to get to a point that they loved the water but when we got there it was worth the wait! Every stage has it perks.

  10. These posts are some of my favorites too.

I have been trying to read a bit from my hubbies Table Talk magazines. I need to try SRT again if this doesn’t work out.

  12. Summer is the best for sure. There are not enough hours. Three rainy days has had me stuck at home and I am somewhat recently caught up right now…. it’s a miracle.
Me too. You would be so proud of her. She is hardly the same kid!

  15. I always miss baking when we do a clean month! And baking when I can't have any isn't much better haha. Then as soon as the month is over I bake way too much and don't even want it.

That must be it - I just need to be a teacher and I'll enjoy summers!
I'm always behind in reading blogs - clearly. Or in reading books. Can never do both. Plus I got an email that my photo book company is going to have a flash sale soon so I'm trying my best to finish up our family yearbook in time. All the things! None of the time.

  16. I could never do an entirely clean month. I don’t eat a lot of what I bake but I couldn’t give it all up. You have a lot of will power!!!
That is totally it! I hated summers until we started homeschooling now I love them dearly.
Amen to all of that. Tis the season… and every other season I suppose.

  17. Only 90 😉. I am pretty much getting to the point I feel catching up is hopeless ☹.
