Another week of summer has passed and the weekend with all of it's excitement is once again here. Okay realistically we are pretty lacking in the excitement department seeing we have no weekend plans made... but it's the weekend and dad will be home so that is good enough for us. Plus, I think with a little luck we can wrap up the construction part of our newest room remodel this weekend and move onto things I enjoy a bit more like decorating. Anyone with me on that one?
Tuesday was Cow Appreciation Day at our local Chick Fil-a so naturally we put all of our spots on and went on our way. But not without a few photos first.
Pardon Marissa' tan line ^. she has a goggle shaped oval on her face. I apply sunblock on her face so heavy it looks ghost white but it is still there. It does make for some pretty funny pictures though. We're currently on a goggle break ;).
So we were at the pool on Tuesday (I am sure that you are all just completely shocked, HA) and a reporter walked up and started asking Emily's name and age and such. Apparently a local paper photographer had snapped a few photos of my dad playing with Emily and wanted to put one in the paper.
I told y'all we are living at the pool. So much that we make it into the paper.
{FOUR} Popsicle Fun
One of the unmarked things on this years bucket list is making homemade popsicles. Step one, buy a popsicle mold. I have absolutely no idea how a mom who makes just about everything she can from scratch did not own a popsicle mold but I didn't. With that little problem fixed I have now moved onto finding a recipe. Here are a few I have my eyes on.
This week I had Whitney from Work It Mommy guest post in my 'Girl Mom' Series.
I absolutely love Whitney and her blog. She did such a fun on "You know you're a girl mom when..." Make sure you read her list and leave us a comment on what your answer would be.
If you're interested in sharing your story about being a girl mom fill out this survey and I will be in touch.

Have a great weekend! We will see you back here soon!
Damn it!! We miss free Chickfila every single year and I'm over it. When folks were sharing their outfits, I was thinking how can we make this happen? Needless to say we didn't but next year, remind me so we can! Connor would love the whole thing, looking like a cow ;)
And if you make the paper or online news, you are famous. Plain and simple. Your daughter is a superstar.
How fun that Emily and you dad made the local paper! All day, every day at the pool. Those are the best kind of summer days. Those pina colada popsicles look SO GOOD!! If you want to make super easy fudge pops, just throw some chocolate pudding in your mould and freeze. Bam! Fudge pops are made. :)
You and your girls make some adorable cows! I totally forgot about that day and wish I hadn't. I love the picture the newspaper captured of your lil one with her grandpa. Its an awesome shot and I know she must feel like a celebrity. ~Lowanda
Love your cow costumes for Chick Fil A. Love that your daughter and your father made the newspaper! How cute is that? Something she can look back on and smile. and I have to try out those funfetti popsicles.
How cute are y'all in your cowprint outfits?!? Love it! We've never been on this day, but I bet it's fun to see all the people dressed up. We just adore our Chick Fil A here. They are the nicest people ever! And so cool they made the paper!! Hope y'all have a really great weekend.
We love Cow Appreciation Day, definitely one of my favorite holidays. ;) And you guys are doing a great job with your summer bucket list! I really feel like I'm failing miserably with mine this year, lol.
I also have been making homemade popsicles! I am thinking of posting some of my recipes! If I do, I will send them to you! Have a great weekend :) Seri from www.Serisblog.com
What popsicle molds did you end up getting? I found some on Amazon that I think are good but I haven't pulled the trigger and bought them yet so I'd love to hear recommendations from someone who actually used them and so I know they're good :)
Hehe! It is definitely a new favorite of ours too. The things we'll do for a free meal out ;). No miserable failing friend. Your plate is pretty full give yourself plenty of grace.
Thanks dear :). It is really busy on this day (for obvious reasons) but it is so much fun. We have a pretty amazing location just about 3 minutes from our house. Y'all gotta try going for cow appreciation day sometime. Ours was great, hope yours was too!
Thank you! We sure are trying. We LOVE the drive in! I am waiting for The Minion Movie to show there then we will check that one off our list. Should be within the next couple weeks!
What a cute looking bunch of cows! My daughter dressed up too and went with friends. I have a Popsicle mold and love it! We make Popsicles all summer long!
Those cow costumes are on point! And love that picture that the photographer took! I keep meaning to take my "good" camera to the pool. Can't wait to see the new school room!!
Thank you so much, we do our best to really get into it but not look ridiculous either. I do too! Tomorrow is the last day of swim lessons so I need to charge the battery tonight and take it with me.

ReplyDeleteIt was pretty cool to see her in the paper. Definitely something to save to show her when she is older. Such a precious memory with her papa.
ReplyDeleteThe funfetti ones seem to be the recipe catching everyone's attention. Those are the ones I am going for.
Thank you so much. I looked it up months ago and wrote it on my calendar to make sure I wouldn't forget it. Summer is just so busy.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend!
It was pretty stinking awesome. Marissa is only slightly jealous too :).
