Friday Highlights 5.15.15

Hello Friday!

The first official week of summer break is over. This week felt like a week of planning. A week of working out the details of our summer break, vacation planning, lesson planning for the next school year and making fitness goal plans. We also spent some time working on the dining room that is just about finished now. I can't wait to share the before and after pictures with you!

Let's talk about this weeks Friday picks

{ONE} Joplin Memorial Run

This weekend is a special event in Joplin, The Joplin Memorial Run. It is the biggest race that Joplin holds, a beautiful memorial to the 161 that lost their lives in the Joplin Tornado on May 22nd, 2011 and it was my very first half marathon.

I have been counting the weeks and days until this race for months now.
I can't wait to share the details with you next week.

{TWO} OTB Lately

This week I shared...

What's been going on "Currently".

Our last day of school photos and interviews.

How I spent my Mothers Day.

{THREE} Flip Belt

Remember a certain girl who REALLY wanted to try a certain product?
Well a certain girl just happened to pick one up when she was at the OKC Memorial Marathon expo.
I couldn't possibly love it any more than I do.

It is so nice to be able to go for a run or a workout without a stupid phone strapped to my arm. It is comfortable, doesn't move when I run and I don't even notice it is there. I now have a spot to put my phone, keys and anything else I might want to carry with me on my run.
So glad that I picked one up.

{FOUR} Thriving This Summer

I am so excited to be a part of the launch team for Keri at Living In This Season's e-Book.

Why Just Survive When you Can Thrive
I can't even begin to tell you how much I  loved this book.
The book goes on sale May 18th. On May 20th I am going to be a part of Keri's blog hop featuring several bloggers sharing summer activities for kids and talking about how they plan to thrive this summer.
You don't want to miss it!

{FIVE} Girl Mom Series

My "Girl Mom" series has been going on for over 2 months now. Story after story has been shared. Some about overcoming fear others about the joy of being a mom to a little girl. They have all been so wonderful and I have found myself being able to relate to every single one.

This week is no exception. Sarah from Abiding In Grace shared a beautiful post about the fears she faces as a mother and how she was reminded by verse to praise. It was such a great reminder and so encouraging. You can read her post here

Be sure to check out Sarah's blog for more great posts about motherhood and adoption.

  1. I have a flipbelt too and I am absolutely bareless without it on my runs. Hands free, and I even wear it sometimes under things when I don't want to bring my purse. Greates invention ever.

  18. It's actually not my first, it's my fourth lol. I think the way I worded that was a bit confusing your not the only one who thought it was my first. The JMR was the first half I ever ran, one year ago. It is an absolutely amazing, special race to me.

    Thank you so much friend.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  25. It was a total game changer in the fitness department for me. I didn't want to spend the cash because for something so simple, it wasn't cheap. BUT when I considered how much I would use it, it just made sense. I am so glad that I got one too!
