Friday night was our churches annual favorite things party. I was so excited to finally be able to attend this event after missing the first two years.
A favorite things party is very simple and so much fun at Christmas time.
Here are the rules:
Everyone brings 5 wrapped presents of their favorite thing(s). They can either be the same, or they can be different. Choose a spending limit per present (usually $5-10). Upon arrival each guest puts their name in a bowl 5 times. Then one at a time the guests take turns sharing their things, picking names from the bowl and giving out their presents. Everyone leaves home with 5 different presents.
Here is what I took to the party with me.
I can a lot so I included some of my favorite things I make:
Blueberry Lemon Jam
Jalapeno Pepper Jelly
&
Apple Butter
The other two gifts were English Breakfast Tea and lotion and a divine dark chocolate almond sea salt bar and lotion.
My wrapping was pretty fancy, ha. Brown paper packages, it totally works right?!
Ready to go!
It was so much fun spending the evening with these lovely ladies. We snacked and chatted then started the party.
There were so many great presents, these ladies had some pretty amazing favorite things. I remember mumbling under my breath (or maybe out loud) a few times. "Please pick me, please pick me."
I came home with a bag full of goodies.
Foot soak and fuzzy socks
2 boxes of Andes mints
Earrings
Silicone baking mat and a bookmark
&
A very soft black and white infinity scarf
This party was so much fun. I am already looking forward to going again next year.
Have you been to a favorite things party before?
If not, I would HIGHLY recommend a favorite things party for a girls night with friends, you will not be disappointed.
This looks like so much fun!! What a great haul!
ReplyDeleteI hosted one a few years ago. I have a friend who has has one each year around Christmas for the past three years. I can't wait for the one this year. I totally hear you with wishing you could have specific things! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteThey are so much fun! Have a blast at yours, I hope those wishes work out well for you.
DeleteI've read about a few of these parties, but never been to one, or heard of one around me. Love the idea though- I think it'd be fun to host one!
ReplyDeleteLove those earrings that you received! I've heard of this idea a few times, but have never actually participated in one. I think I might have to do this with some girlfriends in the near future!
ReplyDeleteI am totally doing this next year with my girlfriends. I love the idea and who doesn't love walking away with a handful of fun gifts!
