Pretty Girls Handmade

In case you missed it, I made an exciting announcement on Friday. While this is still very new I thought it would be nice to write a small post with some extra info about my newest adventure.
I opened an Etsy shop!!!
 Pretty Girls Handmade officially opened for business on 12/11/14 and I couldn't be more excited about it. 

Why did you open a shop? 

There are a few ways I could answer that question. One answer would highlight how much I love being crafty, creative and making things. Another would talk about how I have been told countless times that I should open an Etsy shop. When most of your hobbies focus around making things people just expect it. Lastly, I would probably say that finding an extra way to help contribute to the household income would be helpful. 
I have been thinking about opening and Etsy shop for years now. Seriously guys, a long time. The timing just never felt right, I never really wanted to and I was (and still am) terrified. 
I want people to love the things I make. Quality is huge for me. Can you tell I have been called a perfectionist more than once? This character trait is a blessing and a curse.

What is your shop going to sell?

As of right now I have some really beautiful flannel plaid infinity scarves. I made 16 to start and have already sold around half of them (so encouraging). I can hardly wait for some more material I ordered online to get here so I can make more.

In the future I would LOVE to put some knit/crocheted items on there but those obviously won't be as abundant seeing they take more time to make. I have also played around with the idea of some athletic headbands, different scarves and maybe some simple leather jewelry. Time will tell!

I called my shop Pretty Girls Handmade because I thought it would be fun to some how connect it to my blog. However having said that I don't have any plans to change the focus of my blog to highlight my shop. I did want to do this post and from time to time I may throw something out there but don't expect much to change.
