Schools Out, 2015!

Welcome to Tuesday Talk!

Tuesday talk is a weekly link up where you can post about anything, link-up and mingle around. We are so glad that you are here and hope you'll join the fun this week.

Today's post is all about the END of the 2014/2015 school year.
That's right, school is out!

Hello Summer!

First off I had this goofy idea. What if I took legit last day of school pictures? After all we do home school and sadly that often means long mornings with crazy hair and pj's. So just for the sake of "keepin it real", here you go.

But you know there was no way I was going to let that be that. So I waved my magic wand and voila.

Sweet Sisters

When I grow up I want to be a.... MOMMY

Marissa has chosen this for the past 3 years now and this was the first time I asked Emily.

Emily has another year of pre-K left, but Marissa got a promotion.

I just love this sweet girl and her free spirit.

  1. I love that you did the last day of school pictures. Everyone always does the first day and as a teacher, you see so much change during the year. Happy Summer!

  2. Hehe! I think a lot of people get to excited and forget all about the end of the year photos. I LOVE having both sets and being able to look back on them, even thought it breaks my heart 😊.
    Thank you so much!

  4. Such a sweet, sweet idea! We still have 13 days of school (but who's counting?!) and we can't wait! I always try to take first/last day pics and am always blown away but how much they grow and change. Your girls are precious! Happy Summer!!!

  7. I love their little responses, and Emily, I'm totally with you on the pumpkin bread!

  8. So cute! I love that they both want to be mommies! When is Marissa's birthday??! Mine is coming up too!

  9. Hers is just over a month away. June 17th. So she is "young" for her grade. Lucky stinker will be 17 when she graduates.

I think it is pretty sweet too. Makes me think they must like me.

  10. It is so fun to ask them questions like this.

She talks about pumpkin bread ALL the time. It is so cute.
    Have a great day friend!

  11. It means you're doing a great job! I was 17 when I graduated and Hallie will be too! Hers is June 21!

  12. Aaahhh their birthdays are so close. I just love my June bug. June is pretty much the perfect birthday month.

  13. I love how she needed it to be clear that she locked all colors except black. So sweet. And that Emily's favorite animal is a lady bug. So innocent. Love it!

  14. My 4 year old calls Happy "her song", love it!

  15. Oh my gosh! They grew up so much in just a year! This makes me a little sad. I have one more year of preschool and then one will be in Kindergarten and the other will start preschool, it goes so fast!

  16. And of course your kids are adorable. I can't wait for mine to hold still enough to get pictures like this. Good idea to add in the height in the year interview. I'll have to do that next year. Although I typically do it on their birthday...hmm...

  17. Aaahhh, they would get along so well :)! Emily would listen to that song and dance all day. Sweet girls :).

  18. I know, right?! She is VERY particular and wants all the facts to be made known.

I have no idea why she said lady bug, but it is pretty sweet.

Love doing these interviews with them!

  19. You totally should! It is so much fun to watch them grow and look back. They grow up so fast, I want to capture every moment I can.

The interview idea is the greatest! It will be so much fun for the girls to look back when they are older to see how they answered each.
They both want to be mommies… Oh my gosh, the sweetest.

  21. Isn't it a fun idea?! I am just glad that I remembered to do it again this year :). Haha.

I think it is pretty sweet too. Marissa has ALWAYS wanted to be a mommy. She even has baby names picked out. If she ever has a boy his name will most likely be Jack. Lol.

  22. Thank you so much! Hehe he! I know EXACTLY how that who's counting question goes. It is SO crazy how much they grow in a school year. Every year she looks less and less like a little girl and it is ripping my heart to pieces :(. Slow down baby girls.

  23. It goes WAY to fast. It is so hard to see how much they grow in a year.

  24. Hehe I remember those days and still struggle with my youngest. Just getting her to look at the camera can be hard enough!

Our math curriculum has a spot for measuring height 3 times a year so writing in the interview just helps me to track it better.

  25. One day we will both have kids who look at the camera, your day is probably a bit closer then my day :) Also, did you make the signs they are holding? Do you print it on your regular printer? Or did you send it to a photo place like Costco?

  26. What a sweet idea! Thanks for sharing. <3

    Thanks for reading!

  28. Pink but she wants to make it clear she likes all colors but black...lol. Love it. I love the before and after pics so much AND the interview takes it up an awesome notch. I've been loooking forward to Aria's quarter month update interview since the last one. I also like the 'reality' pics and the magic wand pics =)

  29. This is the first year I have done the reality photos. I thought is was a pretty comical/clever idea.

Aria's interviews are always so stinking cute!

  30. I love the interviews! Hopefully I can start that next year with Wyatt. He has his last day of pre-2 today--I'm going to try and make it without tears. i can't get over how much older M looks, just after a school year. Gah!!

  31. You should definitely start those interviews soon. They are so fun to look back on.
Good luck! It is CRAZY how fast they grow up. I honestly didn’t think Marissa had changed much this year. Then I saw the pictures and almost cried. She just keeps looking less and less like a kid. It breaks my heart.
