Friday Highlights 7.24.15

Hello Friday!

Another week of summer is over and I find myself being less and less excited over the arrival of the weekend :(. Weekends mean the weeks are passing by fast and that means are summer is coming to a bittersweet end.

This weekend is another boring one but I don't mind that one bit. The temperature here Saturday is supposed to feel like it's about 115! We typically steer clear of the pool on the weekend but I think we just might have to make and exception.

Now onto this weeks Friday picks.

{ONE}  On The Blog This Week

This week I finally got around to posting our June Sunday photos.

Shared the big reveal of the home school room we created. We took a space that we weren't really using and transformed it into something fantastic.

This is the before...

You HAVE to see the after.

I also did a fun post about 10 things I love and hate.
{TWO} Insta-lately

If your not following me on Instagram (you can fix that by going here) you may have missed some photos. Here are a few favorites from the past couple weeks.

She thought her Blue Ring Pop was pretty fantastic.

Sweet sisters.

Some how I magically put on a pair of hand me down pants that I couldn't get past my mid thigh 3 months ago. I may not have been able to sit down comfortably but I wore them all day #stubborn!

It's the little things, right ladies?

When twinning with your sister is pretty much the best day ever!

Make sure you follow along so you don't miss any of those gems and leave me a comment so I can find you!

{THREE} Back To School *SIGH*

The countdown is getting close and back to school is coming soon.

17 Days

My pool buddy Anna and I decided we were doomed to soon sad and pale. This summer has been FANTASTIC. The thought of going back to the books kind of makes me want to cry. But hey the pool is closing on the week days so what else will we have to do?

Yes, I planned our back to school date around the pool schedule.
Pathetic I know.

How do you feel about back to school coming up?

I see nothing wrong with planning your school schedule around the pool schedule! My son begins preschool but that's not until September so I have not really begun to think about it too much. Have a great weekend and try to stay cool!

  2. Around here we don't even think about back to school until August, since the kids don't go back until after Labor Day (but then we are in school until mid June). And there is nothing wrong with planning around the pool!

  3. Love your room makeover, it looks awesome and will be great once school is back in session. You looked great in your pants, you totally pulled it off!

  4. I need to find a good (and easy!!) bread recipe to make this Fall. I don't know what it is about making your own bread and Fall but it seems like the very best combo.

  5. What a great week! I know you aren't ready, but we are SOO ready! Sadly we have a bit longer before back to school! 30 days for us!

  6. Hot momma! You look great in that outfit! Allllll of those recipes look divine, YUM! I've been seeing a lot of recipes for zucchini baked goods and I want them all!
Yay for a relaxing weekend but BOO for that hot weather! Gross! Definitely hit the pool up in the morning then hide in your house during the afternoon, ha ha! That's what we've figured out is most comfortable with the heat here in AZ!

  7. Girl, look at you in those white pants!!! I have tried on exactly 2 pairs of white jeans and have come to terms that this is a trend I cannot be a part of ;) Somehow I missed the IG picture (Im @TheFamilySmith4) of Emily with her ring pop, she is too much! Happy weekend!

  10. You look HOT!!! way to fit into those pants and I applaud you for wearing them all day! I think it was a great idea to schedule back to school with the pool (I would do it too!)

  12. We still have 6.5 weeks left of summer break before my 3 oldest head back to school and we are soaking it all up! I can't believe it's almost August already!

    You rocked those pants!!
I'm a bag of mixed emotions about school. How is my baby already starting preschool???
Hope you have a great weekend!

  14. Oh victory with getting on those pants! I would have worn them all day standing too! And love that you planned back to school time around the pool schedule. We basically sound like the same person :) I'm hoping these weeks go by slower too! While I'm really looking forward to cooler weather (which I was wishing for first back in May!) I am wishing we had time to do more fun summer things! Hope you're having a fun weekend!!

  15. So glad you agree :). I would love to have 1+ months of summer left! Enjoy every second of it.

  16. See I HATE those months that follow the new year. January, February and March are the worst for me. The only thing that gets me through April is knowing it is the end. If I had to go until mid June I would just cry. I guess it's good we home school so I have that option. It seems like around here they keep going back earlier and earlier it used to be much later when I was in school.

  17. Thank you, thank you!

Hope you had an awesome weekend!

  18. What kind of bread are you wanting too make? I HAVE LOADS of recipes I have tried.

I agree, something about fall just screams time to bake.

  19. Thanks lady. Putting those pants on felt insane and great.... but if I keep eating zucchini treats it may not happen again ;). But zucchini is a vegetable so that makes it healthy right?!

That would be FANTASTIC and probably a must for AZ our pools here don't open until 1:00 though and sadly not many people have them in their backyards around here either. BOO!

  20. Hehe! I am always pretty much terrified every time I wear them. So many stain possibilities. I have one pair of shorts that got something on them and I CAN'T get it off. I am now forced to dye them :(.

Thanks lady. Hope you had a great weekend.

  21. It is pretty much the most versatile vegetable EVER :).

  22. I bet you don't..... yup. It sucks. How about we have a redo for summer.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Haha! Aawww thanks lady!

I thought it was a genius idea. I mean if we can't go swimming we might as well not just sit around and be bored.

  24. Thanks friend!

I know yours is REALLY close right?! We are hot on your tails, *sigh*. I can stay pretty optimistic until January then my mood goes to the trash can and I feel all done on every level. Winter with no Christmas stinks.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh my goodness lucky you. You must go to school until sometime in June?

August is definitely not my favorite month of the year. So, so HOT!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks friend.

I bet you are! M is growing up, baby is almost here and all of those pregnancy post partum emotions are not coming at the ideal time, lol. Oh good Lord I was always a train wreck of emotions. But it is totally okay and normal (repeat that as needed). Marcus is fantastic he is going to ROCK pre-k and that will thrill your heart pretty lady.

I hope you had a great one too!

  27. Thank you!

Haha! If we can't go to the pool we might as well just start school. After all the sooner we start the sooner we are done :). Cooler weather is something I am really looking forward to, too. This week has been H.O.T.!!! I suppose I can last another month but post Labor Day we better get a quick cool down.
