Model A

We happen to be the proud owners of a 1930 Ford Model A Ratrod.
Ratrod is just a "fancy" way of saying a rusty, primered old car that hasn't been restored to its original condition.

I love this car.

"We" started building it right after we got married and it was magically finished a little shy of 2 years later, right before Marissa turned one.

Back in 2011 the tornado took the entire garage, but the car was still there. It did have a few dents but nothing that wasn't fixable.

Before

After

Now it has a roof to, woo hoo!

Sunday night we finally took the car out to a car show. I honestly can't remember the last time we have done this. We used to live at car shows.

Of course now that Marissa is big enough to ride along she is always BEGGING Dad to take her with him in the car. And he is always happy to have a pretty little girl in the passenger seat.

Sadly Emily and I  have to follow along.

The Prettiest little car girls I have ever seen, Daddy's car has never looked so good.

We walked around and looked at cars

Chilled out

And even won a door prize!

It was a great night that left me wondering why we don't do this more often.

Maybe we will.

  2. Omg. I love this post. My father-in-law is obsessed with buying old cars and going to car shows. He even made us attend a car show while I was pregnant (since we were moving) so he could say he took her to her first car show. Love it! It use to sound annoying but I truly love car shows now. Ha!
